The heart of the community is deeply saddened over the sudden loss of our dear friend and hero; Kenny Andrus. He filled many roles throughout his life, both as a seasoned public servant and a devoted family man.
Ken served in the United States Navy and some of the heroic titles he held throughout his life of service included Fire Chief, EMS Director, & Reserve Deputy—but more importantly, he was husband, father, grandpa & friend to all.
Kenny faithfully protected his Berkeley County community, where he was a longtime resident. He briefly worked for St. Stephen Fire & EMS before it was absorbed into Berkeley County EMS, where he retired at the supervisory level after more than three decades. For the last 20-plus years, Kenny also suited up as part of the local thin blue line as a top reserve deputy for Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
In addition to his love of the fire, EMS, and law-enforcement fields, Kenny enjoyed welding, fishing, skiing, beach trips, soaring the skies as a pilot, and spending time with his family. Most importantly, he was a faith-filled man who knew his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Kenny, 57, is survived by his bride of 30-plus years, Debbie, & their three children—Paige, Ashley & Trae, and his three beautiful grandchildren Millie, Gracie and Jaxson.
We pray that you forever memorialize Kenny in your hearts and consider donating to this fund, which will help the family cover funeral cost during this season of grieving.
