As many of you that know us already know, my partner Adam and I have faced a perfect storm of misfortunes since the start of the year that has put us in an extremely difficult spot...

For those of you just tuning in to our series of unfortunate events… Hello! We are Veronika and Adam and would like to thank you so much for taking time to listen to our story!

It all began with his car breaking down and needing replaced and both of us falling ill repeatedly, which led to tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills. On top of that, we were hit with emergency vet bills for our beloved cats, a sudden loss of work due to illness, and a sharp increase in our monthly expenses. Just when we thought things couldn’t get worse, we discovered our home was riddled with black mold. We had to evacuate for weeks while we battled fungal pneumonia, and with our landlord denying responsibility, we were left to pay out of pocket for repairs. After all that, we were told the property was being sold and we’d have to find a new place to live—with no savings left and our three cats depending on us.

We are reaching out for help because we need support to put a deposit down on a new rental home, pay off our daunting medical bills, and cover the costs of moving. We have worked so incredibly hard together this past year to make our home and life as beautiful as possible, with both of us working multiple jobs, only to be knocked down so low by these unexpected challenges. We would be endlessly grateful for the opportunity to make this next step in our lives—and our new home, wherever that may be—beautiful too, with your help.
