Please help Olivia and Kurt on their journey to parenthood.
Dear Family, Friends, and Kind Strangers,
We are reaching out to you with hopeful hearts and a sincere request for support. My daughter, Olivia and son in-law, Kurt have been on an incredibly challenging journey to start their family. Please continue reading below for more details on their story.
Kurt and Olivia were married on June 19, 2010. They have always wanted a family of their own. Early on in their lives, Olivia knew she wanted to be an elementary teacher and Kurt has always had the goal to be the FUN uncle. However, they were blissfully unaware of the many obstacles on their path to creating their own family.
In 2014, Olivia was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor. Doctors told her it could be controlled with a small amount of medicine and that her chances to conceive naturally would not be hindered. When they couldn’t conceive while living in Texas, they accepted that maybe it wasn't the right timing. In 2017, when they moved to Boise, Idaho Olivia had just turned 32. They decided it was time to seek help and answers as to why they couldn’t get pregnant.
After eight unsuccessful IUI’s and two grueling and also unsuccessful
rounds of IVF, the only conclusion they came to is that the pituitary tumor went undiagnosed for many years, most likely starting during puberty causing permanent damage to Olivia’s eggs.
They celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary this past summer and have always wanted children, however, they have faced many obstacles and heartbreaks along the way-starting after the first year of their marriage. Their steadfast determination and hope has not wavered. They have coped with not having a family in many different ways, including trying to trust God’s timing, being incredibly patient, enjoying a slow-steady lifestyle, and embracing the reality of being parents later in life. Both Kurt and Olivia LOVE children and enjoy spending time with nieces, nephews, and their friend’s children regularly.
They are now pursuing a different path to parenthood. While this next step in their journey could be their glimmer of hope, the burden of paying for fertility treatments for the past four and a half years has taken its toll-not only financially, but mentally and emotionally as well. They have embarked on this journey without any financial support from friends or family. We are now asking you to kindly help us to lift them up and give them an extra push to continue to be hopeful. They are so close.
The new route they are exploring offers a better chance for success, but the costs continue to be daunting. This includes medical procedures, medication, and other associated expenses that are not covered by either of their insurance companies. With hopeful hearts, we are asking for your help to ease their financial burden and support them in this next step. Kurt and Olivia are more than ready to embrace their children earthside.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will go towards their fertility treatment costs. If you’ve been blessed to know Olivia and Kurt and have seen them interact with children, you know how deserving they are and that they will be incredible parents.
We know times are tough for many, we are deeply grateful for any support you can provide, whether it be through a donation or by sharing this Go Fund Me campaign with others.
Thank you for taking the time to read my Daughter and Son In-Law’s story. Your kindness, compassion, and generosity mean the world to us and to them.
With heartfelt gratitude,
