10km a day - Walking for Project Zulu

Donation protected
From 2nd to the 8th June, I’ll be walking 10 kilometres every day—this is the average distance many children in South Africa walk to and from school each day. That’s a total of 70k over the week. I’m doing this to raise money for the schools I’ll be working with this summer as part of Project Zulu.

From 28th July to 22nd August, I’ll be heading over to South Africa to volunteer with Project Zulu! Project Zulu gives UWE Bristol trainee teachers like me the chance to work in primary schools across the township and rural communities of Madadeni and Dundee.

For four weeks, I’ll be teaching alongside South African teachers, learning from each other, and adapting to the challenges of large class sizes and limited resources. It’s a chance for me to share what I've learnt over the past 3 years, learn new teaching methods to take with me into my teaching career, living in and experiencing another culture and hopefully have a positive impact on the children and teachers there.

I’m raising money to support the schools taking part in the project, to help them get some much-needed teaching materials like books, stationery, and other resources. Your donations will go directly to these schools, helping make a difference in the education of the children who need it most.
