My grandma Patty Brown—a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a true friend to all—has been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. She has always been a strong, caring, and giving person, and seeing her face this has been incredibly difficult to our entire family, along with the Elham’s family.

If you know my grandma, you know she has spent her entire life taking care of everyone else. She’s been a waitress for decades, and for the last 16 years, she has been the bright, shining heart of Elham’s Restaurant. She’s the person who makes strangers feel like family. She has truly touched countless lives. When she walks into a room she instantly makes it warmer, happier, and lighter.

And now, as her family we are standing by her side every step of the way and pouring our hearts into supporting her through this terrifying and uncertain journey. We are doing everything we can, loving her fiercely as she begins chemotherapy and radiation. But the weight of this battle—emotionally, physically, and financially—is overwhelming.

At Elham’s, they are doing their part by continuing her salary while she stays home to focus on her health. But the medical bills, travel expenses, and daily needs during this fight are far more than our family can carry alone.
