My dad, Gene Kaminer, has been through so much over the past few years. About four years ago, he suffered a stroke that changed his life, but he’s worked incredibly hard to stay mostly independent and keep pushing forward.

About a month and a half ago, he was hospitalized with a serious gallbladder infection and ended up spending almost a month in the hospital. He’s now at JF Hawkins for rehab, working every day to regain his strength and stability.

Unfortunately, insurance only covers part of his stay, and the out-of-pocket costs for the next 79 days are overwhelming. I’m doing everything I can, but it’s more than I can handle alone.
