Help Support My Generous Mom Through Her Cancer Treatments

Hi everyone,

This is my mom, Lynn Bower, and me. She’s one of the most generous, fun, creative, and caring people I know. She’s a talented singer, always finding ways to bring joy to others with her great voice. She also works full-time as a paraprofessional, helping children with special needs—an incredibly important job she’s passionate about. She’s dedicated her life to supporting others, including me and my brothers, but right now, she’s the one who needs support.

She’s currently going through chemo for breast cancer, which has returned as both estrogen-positive and HER2-positive. This is her third battle with cancer and her second with breast cancer. Her treatment plan involves six rounds of chemotherapy over the next six months, followed by surgery and then radiation.

She won’t be able to work normally for about eight months. The prognosis is good, but getting through this is the biggest hurdle.

Even though she’s doing everything she can to keep working, the treatments have made it incredibly difficult. Like so many Americans, she lives paycheck to paycheck. She has no idea how she’ll be able to afford to take time off to recover.

I wish I could help my mom financially right now, but as I’m wrapping up my final semester of college and paying my own bills, I’m not in a position to do so. That’s why I’m reaching out—so she can focus on healing (and being a total bad b*tch) without the crushing stress of bills and missed work.
