Supporting Megan, Ty & Jax

On September 22, 2025, our family’s world was shattered when Carl passed away unexpectedly at the age of 58. Carl was so many things to so many people — a son, brother, coach, mentor, and friend. But above all else, he was the most devoted husband to Megan and the proudest dad to their 11-year-old twin boys, Ty and Jax.

Carl’s life was steeped in football and family. From his early days at Valle Catholic High School in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, where he helped capture three straight state championships, to playing linebacker for the Missouri University of Science & Technology, to his nearly three decades as part of Pittsburg State University’s storied football program, Carl left a legacy that few can match. He coached with passion and heart, helping lead the Gorillas to a national championship, multiple playoff appearances, and countless victories. In recent years, he continued that same dedication at St. Mary’s-Colgan, serving as both a coach and teacher, inspiring the next generation on and off the field.

But if you asked Carl what his greatest role was, the answer came easily: being Dad. More than any championship or accolade, Carl cherished being “all-time quarterback” in the front yard with his boys. From fishing trips to neighborhood pickup games, Ty and Jax were his whole world — and they knew it every single day. Megan and the boys were his heart, and he never missed a chance to show them just how much they were loved.

Now, as Megan and the twins face this unimaginable loss, we — Carl’s family, friends, colleagues, and community — want to surround them with the same love and support Carl gave so freely. So many have asked how they can help. This fund allows friends and family to honor Carl by helping build a foundation for Ty and Jax’s future.
