My name is Kendal Shuper and I am writing to share the struggles my aunt, Linda, is going through in an effort to fundraise on her behalf.

On Tuesday, June 14th 2022 Linda was awoken by her husband, Buddy, in the middle of the night as he told her he could not breathe. After being rushed to the hospital Uncle Buddy died of a pulmonary embolism. A complication most likely caused by his paralysis.

Linda and Buddy had been married for 40 years and Linda had been Buddy’s primary care provider after a roofing accident paralyzed him 32 years ago. Because Linda spent the majority of her time caring for my uncle, she was unable to obtain a career that would support her on her own income. With the loss of her husband and his social security income she contacted her landlord to notify them of her situation and that she might need a little help with July’s rent. They responded by giving her 2 weeks to move out of the home she has lived in for 16 years.

Unfortunately, within 24 hours Linda lost her husband, lost his financial support and lost her home. She is forced to sell the majority of her belongings in an effort to downsize so she can fit her lifelong possessions into a spare bedroom of her loving son’s home while she recovers from these losses.

Linda has always been such a loving and selfless person. We are hoping to give her a little bit of light during this dark time and hope to raise enough money to cover the burial expenses of Buddy and to hopefully provide her with some additional support. Anything you could offer would be greatly appreciated and would help to get Linda back on her feet.
