Kelly is the type of friend everyone needs in their life. Do you need help with something? She's there. Do you need advice or want to vent? You call her. She'll stock your freezer when your sick and go above and beyond to cheer you up when your feeling down. Kelly has always been a pillar of support for those around her and helped get people through their darkest times.
In early April Kelly and her husband Dan was faced with something no young family wanted to hear. Dan was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis and requires a liver transplant in the foreseeable future.
5% of healthy Australians will be diagnosed with an autoimmune condition, and despite the healthy lifestyle Dan and Kelly lead, Dan was an unlucky one. These diseases significantly impact the quality of life of those who have the condition as well as those who care for them.
Autoimmune hepatitis is a chronic disease that causes inflammation in the liver when the body's immune system attacks liver cells resulting in scarring of the liver and, finally to liver failure.
Kelly and her husband Dan have two beautiful young boys: two-year-old Tommy and seven-month-old Olly. Dan is unable to work due to illness and Kelly is the primary caregiver for the boys, and now Dan whilst on her maternity leave.
We have created this page to help our dear friends during this challenging time in their lives. All funds will be transferred straight to the family's bank account and will be used for medical bills, childcare, food and nappies while Dan cannot work. Any amount donated will be greatly appreciated, and the family thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
Thank you for supporting our friends,
all our love Steph Greenshields and Ally Gore
