For one year beginning this fall, I'll be volunteering with Mercy Ships, a global charity that brings resources and essential medical services to those in need. In sub-Saharan Africa, nearly 90% of the population does not have access to safe surgeries. Mercy Ships delivers free surgical care and medical capacity-building support to help strengthen local healthcare systems in Africa.
Mercy Ships relies on a volunteer crew. This allows general Mercy Ships donations to be used for direct patient care, community development programs, and other costs associated with its Field Service initiatives. From surgeons, nurses, engineers to deckhands, housekeepers, and photographers, everyone serves as a volunteer. I am excited to be putting my creative skills to use as a Creative Coordinator on the Global Mercy, the world’s largest civilian hospital ship.
Because I will be serving entirely as a volunteer over the next twelve months, I'm fundraising to raise support for basic necessities, travel fees, and insurances.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps to transform lives and builds a brighter future for those who need it most. I am truly so grateful for any and all donations and support!
