Help Baby Rowan
Just last week, baby Rowan was diagnosed with Failure To Thrive because her weight falls in the less than 10th percentile. This is very concerning for this family and they, along with their pediatrician have come up with a plan to help little Rowan get the nutrition that she needs to thrive and grow.

In order for this to happen,  the pediatrician has asked Maggie to take a 5 week leave from her job as a cardiac nurse at a local hospital. Because Maggie just recently used up her short-term disability and PTO for maternity leave, she will have to take unpaid leave to help Rowan overcome this diagnosis.

The good news is that the pediatrician is confident that with the right plan of care, Rowan will get back on her appropriate growth curve.  Maggie and Justin are working closely with their pediatrician and other providers (like their lactation consultant) to get Rowan lots of fortified bottles and breast milk on a rigid schedule at home for the next 5 weeks.

A Call For Help
Because of the school closings, Justin's job as a long-term high school substitute teacher has come to a halt, but luckily, he will still be getting paid by Loudoun County while schools are out. As many of us are two-income households, Maggie and Justin count on both incomes to pay their monthly expenses.

Maggie and Justin are looking for financial support that would help them pay for one to two months worth of expenses (~$3000 per month, in addition to Justin's income) to hold them over until Maggie is able to go back to work.

We are asking for our generous community to surround them and support them with $6,000 to cover their expenses for 2 months so that Maggie can stay home longer to support Rowan if needed.

This is a challenging time for all of us and we want to provide support if possible to our friends in need. Right now, Maggie and Justin need help. They have had an impact on so many people in our community and it would be so great to show them love in this way. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, send a gift card, a meal, or a word of encouragement, and if you are able to do so, give whatever you can.  A big thank you to  Maggie’s co-workers who have generously donated some PTO!

And please, help us  get the word out, you can share the link to your Facebook Timeline!

Thank you for helping this sweet family,
Jamie E. & Jamie U.
