Help Support Julie & Adam Michaud
As many of you know, Julie and Adam were expecting their first child last fall when complications arose quickly. Julie’s health failed and in addition to preeclampsia, she developed HELLP syndrome which necessitated the delivery of baby Eliza at just 25 weeks gestation at 14.3 ounces.
Eliza Lynn Michaud was born on November 14, 2020. That sweet little girl was a fighter and defied all odds. She grew and grew and hopes were realized when she was released from the NICU last month to join her family at home. She was a joy and delight to all who knew her, especially those who only got a small glimpse of this special child through social media. She was still a very sick little baby, but loved being at home with her mama and dada and two protectors, Ollie and Ellie. After a final perfect day spent with her family, her little lungs and heart stopped working and she passed away early on Saturday morning, June 12, 2021. Everyone who knew and loved her is devastated that this was the ending.
There were many struggles before Eliza came home, including Julie and Adam battling a COVID infection, and Julie suffering a stroke and spending a week in the ICU. Julie is currently unable to work until at least August due to the effects of the stroke and her recovery needs.
So many people have offered love and support to the family during this hard, hard year and we are so grateful. There isn’t really anything anyone can do to ease the pain of losing a child, but we’ve created this fundraiser for those who have asked for a tangible way to help support them. Funds will be used for Eliza’s burial, and for the medical copays and deductibles incurred for Eliza and Julie, and to use while Julie is off work. Thank you, thank you for everyone who knows and loves them. This sweet little girl meant the world to all of us.
