In November 2021, my beautiful cousin Jess was diagnosed with breast cancer. She faced it with incredible courage, undergoing treatment that included a single mastectomy. After 18 long months of surgeries, chemotherapy and countless hospital visits, Jess finally heard the words she had been fighting for — she was cancer free.

Then after just 1 month in mid-2023, Jess and her family received devastating news: doctors had found a lesion on her brain. She was rushed to Brisbane for surgery and began yet another chapter in her fight.

Since then, life has been an emotional roller coaster filled with hospital stays, treatments, and moments of uncertainty — but also incredible strength, love and resilience.

Jess’s husband has been by her side every step of the way, along with her parents and their three beautiful children. He has now taken time away from work to care for Jess full-time, which has placed financial strain on the family.

While they would never see themselves as people who ask for help, so many of us have been searching for a way to do something. This GoFundMe has been created to ease some of the financial pressure — to help with everyday costs, travel, and to give this beautiful family one less thing to worry about as they focus on what really matters: time together.
