Hello, my name is Jackson Stanley, and I am a Life Scout with Troop 531 working toward earning my Eagle Scout rank. For my Eagle Scout service project, I am honored to support the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery and their annual Wreaths Across America event in December.

About My Project

Since 2018, my family has volunteered to place wreaths on veterans’ graves at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery to honor the men and women who served our country. In previous years, at the Wreaths Across America event I noticed that volunteers could typically carry only two or three wreaths at a time. This slowed the process and made it harder for some participants—especially younger volunteers and older community members.

Last year, we improvised by using a simple broomstick to carry multiple wreaths. It worked surprisingly well, allowing us to transport 10–12 wreaths at once much more efficiently.

To make this improvement permanent, I designed a custom wooden wreath carrier that allows volunteers to transport multiple wreaths safely and comfortably. My Eagle Project includes:

Building and donating multiple wooden wreath carriers.

Designing and constructing a durable storage case for cemetery staff.

Ensuring these carriers can be used year after year.

My Troop will also be participating in Wreaths Across America on December 13 to help put them into action.

My hope is that these carriers will make the process better and help ensure more wreaths are placed in less time, honoring even more veterans during this important holiday season event.
