This is the last thing I wanted to do, but here I am — asking for help at a time when I truly need it.

Recently, I underwent hip revision surgery to address an infection in my original hip replacement. This meant that the whole replacement had to be redone and I am on IV antibiotics for the next month. While I’m incredibly grateful that the procedure went well, I’m now facing a 1–2 month recovery period where I’m unable to work 2 of my 3 jobs as they are movement dependent. This part has been the hardest to come to terms with.

I’ve always tried to be independent and handle life’s challenges on my own, so asking for support doesn’t come easy to me. But the truth is, I could really use a hand right now.

Funds raised will help cover essential expenses during this recovery time — social service agencies have been wonderful with some rent assistance but there is so much more that I am responsible for in order to ensure things stay stable, especially for my son Noah, until I get back on my feet (literally).
