Last night our local bayside community lost something truly special.

Hello Bello Pizza, a deeply loved local business, was destroyed in a devastating act of arson and in a matter of moments everything Assad has worked so hard to build was gone.

This was never just a business, it is his dream and his livelihood. Having recently welcomed a new baby this business represents their stability, their security and their future.

Hello Bello Pizza has always been more than just a place to eat, it has been a true pillar in the community. Assad has always shown up for others supporting local sporting teams helping families in need and giving back wherever he could. He built something people genuinely loved not just for the food but for the heart behind it.

Given the brazen and horrific nature of what has happened there is a strong feeling within the community that this may have been a case of mistaken identity should there have been someone else intended in this attack. Everyone is deeply shaken and floored by what has unfolded.

This loss reaches far beyond one family and deeply impacts a team of staff who have become like family themselves. They have worked side by side to create something special and right now our priority is to support them to stay together and to have some stability while there is no business to operate.

While the business was insured there is a significant gap between now and when rebuilding can begin and this GoFundMe has been created to help ease that shortfall. It is here to support Assad his family and his team through this incredibly difficult time and to give them the best chance of reopening together.
