Hello,
I am Keith Mendoza, a fellow member of El Camino CC. As you probably know, the kitchen was closed down for an expected duration of 8 weeks to bring the grease trap up to code.
This has been a final hardship for our front of house staff that work the patio and member dining room. I want to thank Pat Walsh for raising awareness and wanting to do something to help are El Camino Family that staff members that rely on tips from food and bar service.
I have learned that early reports indicate about a $2,500 to $3,000 drop in tips earned because of closure reducing total food and bar sales. That is among about the regularly 25 to 29 front of house staff that are scheduled regularly. I want to emphasize this fund raise is not for workers who work special events.
That is an average of $400 in lost wages for valued friends who work as staff members. That is significant amount that normally go towards necessities like food, housing or transportation.
Will you joining myself and Pat Walsh in investing the people who help us enjoy our time at El Camino. My goal is to raise somewhere in the neighborhood of $6,000 to $10,000 which be close to fund the expected $400 in earnings. I personally in order to kick start this will donate $250. Any donation of $20 or above over 450 golf members and 180 tennis members will go along way to meet our goal and help our staff get through this rough patch of the kitchen being required to be closed down for repairs.
Your generosity is appreciated!
Keith Mendoza
