Many of you in our village will know Dorota — or “Dottie,” as many of us fondly call her — our hardworking, friendly EVRI courier who always goes the extra mile.

She’s the lovely Polish mum who delivers our parcels with a smile, often going out of her way to make sure things arrive safely, even in the rain, late evenings, or busy holiday periods.

Recently, Dottie’s van suffered a complete engine failure.

Despite this huge setback, she’s still doing her rounds every day, renting a van just to keep working so she can support her two young boys. With a wage cut expected in the New Year, this has added even more pressure at a really difficult time for her family.

I posted on our village Facebook group to ask if people would be interested in helping her — and the response was overwhelming.

Dozens of comments and likes came in from people wanting to support her, showing just how valued she is in our community.

This GoFundMe has been created to help Dottie towards getting a reliable van again — something that would take a huge weight off her shoulders and allow her to continue working without the stress of rental costs.

This idea was entirely my own, and I made sure to ask Dottie’s permission before posting or setting this up. She was touched and grateful for the kindness shown.

If you’re able to contribute, no matter how small, it would mean so much — not only practically, but emotionally, to show Dottie how appreciated she truly is.
