Octavia’s family, friends and loved ones would like to thank everyone for the incredible love, kindness and support we have received since the tragic news of her passing.

Several days before her death, Octavia had been suffering from severe headaches and sought medical help through 111, her GP and A&E. She was advised that she was suffering from a migraine and that it would pass.

However, early on Friday morning, Octavia woke with symptoms similar to those of a stroke and was rushed to Canterbury Hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery.

The cause was determined to be a torn artery in her neck, although at this stage nobody knows what caused the tear. Tragically, following complications from her stroke, she then suffered a catastrophic brain bleed.

Octavia was transferred to King’s College Hospital in London. Her family remained by her side for many hours before, at around 6:30am on Saturday 19th, we were told that there was nothing more that could be done to save her.

In true Tav style, even in the most heartbreaking circumstances, she continued to help others.

She was kept on life support so that her Preloved organs could be donated to people desperately in need of them. Her official time of death was recorded at 4pm on Wednesday 23rd September.

We have serious questions that we feel need to be answered about how Octavia’s initial health concerns were handled. We are awaiting the coroner’s report, and a separate complaints process has also been started.

Until we have those answers, we do not wish to place blame.

Nothing will bring our Tav back, but we sincerely hope that lessons can be learned from what happened so that, in the future, another family does not have to experience the same devastating outcome.

The family and Friends of Octavia have set up this go fund me to raise funds for Octavias beautiful daughter Dolly. We know nothing will ever make this hurt any less and nothing can bring her back to us but we hope to raise some money to help support Dolly and her future as she learns to navigate life without her mummy.

All money raised will go directly to Dolly's care, upbringing and helping us to support her in any way that she needs.
