Help Support Dau Tran's Sons: Legal and Future Fund

Hi everyone,

I am reaching out with a heavy heart as our family navigates a difficult and unexpected time. We suffered the devastating loss of our father, Dau Tran (age 60) on 2/14/25 after he was very recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, which spread to several lymph nodes, liver, both lungs, and his brain. The largest tumor on his brain needed to be removed immediately. Before he went in for his brain surgery, he agreed to relocate from Louisiana to NY with his 2 sons, Ben (age 13) and Den (age 12) to live with me and my husband, Fred, so we could help care for him and also give his sons a better life. As we cope with this immense grief, my sisters and I are now facing the legal challenges of securing permanent guardianship over my brothers and relocating them from Louisiana to NY to live with me. They are very eager to get up here to start their new lives. This fund is not only to assist with legal costs, but to save for the boys' future.

We will have a memorial service for our father at a date TBD, but in lieu of flowers, food, etc., we ask that you consider donating to help support the boys. I know my father went into his surgery happy and at peace knowing he and his sons were going to move in with me and that I would give his boys a beautiful life. He worked so hard for years trying to legally bring them here from Vietnam and was finally able to in 2022.
