A new baby should bring home overflowing joy, but for Danielle and her family, the past month has brought unimaginable pain and fear.

Just one week after bringing home her beautiful baby boy, Dominic, Danielle suffered a severe gallstone attack. What was expected to be a routine procedure quickly turned into a life-threatening ordeal. During surgery, multiple complications arose. Danielle’s organs were severely injured. Her lungs and kidneys collapsed. She was intubated and placed in intensive care and has remained hospitalized for the past 3.5 weeks.

Her husband and family have not left her side. Damian has been out of work, unpaid, while trying to be a father to a newborn who hasn’t had the chance to truly know his mother’s arms. Baby Dominic is now one month old, but he’s only been with his mommy for a single week since his birth.

Danielle is one of the strongest, most loving, and hardest-working people you could meet. She’s an amazing wife, sister, friend, aunt and overall human being. She would never ask for help but right now, this family truly needs it. The emotional and financial toll of this medical crisis is overwhelming. There is a long, difficult road to recovery ahead, and the family’s needs, from medical bills to basic baby care, are growing by the day.
