Help us to keep Cwmparc Community Centre Open
Donation protected
Cwmparc Community Association is a registered Charity which provides an open access facility for people of all ages within the community. Running out of 2 buildings; the Community Centre and the Family Hub we rely on income generated through weekly provision to fund the running of the building and help with core costs, with all the income received being reinvested in running to the Association.
Within the Centre we provide a community cafe, a community gym, a community theatre space and run a variety of creative, hobbyist, wellbeing and wellbeing classes working in partnership with local providers. The Family Hub provision provides Afterschool Play and Youth provision and Holiday Play schemes for children and young people aged 5-25.
The Community Centre building is owned by the community themselves via a membership scheme (and not the Council as commonly thought) and managed by a volunteer Board of Trustees who meet monthly to make decisions and oversee the Centres development.
The Centre also employs local people in a variety of roles and is heavily dependant on external funding for these positions.
Unfortunately, we have not be successful in securing continuation funding to sustain employment of key staff, and as such we need the community's support to help us keep the Centre open .
