My name is Billie, and I’m the founder of Radix Doula — a practice rooted in the belief that every birthing person deserves culturally responsive, affirming, and holistic support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Radix means “root” in Latin, and this business grew from my calling to provide care that honors the deepest roots of our identities, stories, and communities. After years of training, working as a certified birthing doula, and supporting families from all walks of life, I’m ready to expand this vision — but I can’t do it alone.
Why I’m Asking for Your Support
Starting a community-centered doula practice requires more than just heart — it requires resources. I’m seeking to raise $3,000 to cover essential start-up costs so I can sustainably offer sliding-scale and low-cost services to families who need it most.
Your donation will help fund:
- Professional tools & supplies (birth kits, comfort tools, educational materials)
- Business development costs (marketing, branding, licensing, insurance)
- Community programming (workshops on reproductive health, postpartum care, and self-advocacy)

Why This Matters
The maternal health crisis — especially for Black, Brown, and LGBTQ+ communities — is deeply personal to me. Through Radix Doula, I aim to challenge inequities by making doula care accessible, affirming, and rooted in cultural humility.
