On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, Babucarr Touray went to his scheduled immigration appointment, just as he had done many times before. Unfortunately, this time, he was taken into ICE custody.

His attorney later contacted his family to inform them of his detention. This unexpected situation has been difficult for Babucarr and his loved ones, who are now facing a time of uncertainty.

While his family works with his attorney to explore the possibility of securing his release, Babucarr's financial responsibilities continue. His rent and other essential expenses still need to be covered, even while he remains in detention.

We are raising $12,000 to help cover Babucarr's immigration bond, if granted, as well as his ongoing living expenses and other financial obligations during this difficult time.
