Help Support Anna following a Brain Stem Stroke

Hi, I write this on behalf of Linda Byrne.

I am Anna Greenwood’s auntie and I write this story on behalf of all my family and those close to her. Anna, who at the age of 34 in January this year suddenly developed a catastrophic Brain Stem Stroke and Aneurysm. This life-changing event has led to Anna being in Intensive Care for her recovery, on a ventilator and a tracheostomy since. It left her with the inability to swallow, breathe or to be able to move her limbs. This has not only been devastating for Anna but also for her four year old twins, her partner Stuart and her mum Sharon & dad Andrew.

After 14 weeks in Intensive Care, she is making steady progress and has amazed the medics, nursing team, speech & language therapist & physiotherapist with her amazing determination and courage. Although her speech has returned, she is only able to move her arms and legs minimally and therefore needs help with everything.

We as a family, set up this fundraising page as financially it has hit Anna and her immediate family hard. Anna receives only statutory sick pay and her partner is unable to be there at the hospital all the time as he has to work to support them financially and take care of their twins. This is emotionally hard on both Anna & her partner, including her mum and dad who are doing all and much more to support them.

To help Anna communicate with her family and children when they can’t be there, Anna needs voice activated equipment to enable her to see/hear her partner and children as she is unable to use her hands. We know equipment is costly and we know their financial strain will continue for the foreseeable and we thank you for any donation you can give to help support Anna and her recovery ❤️‍
