Hello,

My name is Jalessia (Angel), and I’m a single mother of two amazing toddlers. As of September, I no longer have an income, and because of the government shutdown, I won’t be receiving food stamps for now.

My goal is to return to work, but I’m struggling to find affordable childcare for my two kids. I’m currently on the waitlist for childcare vouchers and, without them, I only qualify for a four-hour day through Head Start.

I have a few different paths I’m exploring, and I’m not looking for advice or direction — I ask that those reading this treat it with empathy and grace. This situation has been extremely stressful, and it’s not easy for me to be this open.

I’m hoping to raise enough funds to stay afloat until things stabilize — just enough to keep my head above water. Times are hard for everyone right now, so even sharing this means a lot. Any funds received would be allocated toward food, household essentials, my children's needs, a few overdue bills, and replenishing necessities.
