Help support Amy Wells' family

Amy (known to many as “Amy Lou”) is an incredible human, who we all got to see in action during the wildfires and aftermath. I first met Amy that week, and immediately saw her dedication to the animals and their families, and her incredible knowledge and resourcefulness to be able to pull together a rescue effort from the bottom up, helping save approximately 300 animals and helping find closure for the grieving families of those who couldn’t be saved.

Amy continues to help families impacted by the fires – securing donated goods and resources for their pets, including access to spay and neutering services, for families in need. Through her facebook group that grew to over 21,000 members, Amy continues to help reunite families with their lost pets, renaming the group HRM Lost and Found Pets (Formerly Tantallon Wildfire Lost Pets).

Always focussed on helping others, these days Amy is herself struggling.

Following illness, Amy’s dear mother has passed from this life. On top of the sadness and grief of losing her mom, Amy is struggling to take care of her father and son, including financial hardship.

Amy has had to take unpaid leave from work to deal with the grief of losing her best friend and also having to combine two households as she moves in to care for her father and son. This means she has two households to try to maintain while still trying to make time for family, all while going to University to finish her BScN.
