Stand By Those Who Serve: Help a Military Family's Sanctuary Thrive
We are reaching out to our community to help a family in need. Ashley and Dan Stamm, who have been pillars of support for both animals and people in their community, now need our help. They run Back to the Bond Sanctuary Farm, a rescue dedicated to providing a safe haven for dogs and senior horses. Back to the Bond Sanctuary Farm is currently home to 9 senior horses and 7 rescue dogs. Since 2010, Ashley has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for animals, pouring her heart and soul into giving them a second chance at life.
However, this compassionate work is now at risk. Dan, a Navy Chief Petty Officer who has served since 2006, is facing a battle of his own—he’s been diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy after completing radiation treatment for a tumor. His treatment will continue through December, and if all goes well, they hope he will be cancer-free by the end of the year. If not, surgery may be the next step.
Because of the frequent trips to the military hospital (1.5-2hrs each way) and the demands of Dan’s treatment, Ashley has been unable to work as a dog trainer, impacting their ability to sustain the sanctuary. The sanctuary’s animals—many of whom need ongoing veterinary care and special diets—are in jeopardy without immediate financial support.
Ashley and Dan have always given selflessly to their community. Dan has served our country since 2006, with deployments on multiple submarines, most recently earning the prestigious rank of Chief Petty Officer, E-7. Now, it’s our turn to give back to this family that has done so much.
How You Can Help
Your donations will go directly toward the care of the sanctuary animals. The funds will be used for essential veterinary visits, food, and other care needs for the senior horses and dogs at the sanctuary. This support will allow Ashley to focus on taking care of Dan during this difficult time without worrying about the sanctuary’s future.
Let’s come together and show Ashley and Dan the same commitment and dedication they have shown to their community and animals for so many years. Every little bit helps to keep this sanctuary running and give these animals the love and care they deserve.
