You have the power to change a girl's future!

We are fundraising to help support girls at El Hogar Nuestra Señora de Los Remedios, an orphanage in Guatemala that cares for girls that have been victims of physical and psychological abuse, malnutrition, domestic violence, and girls in conditions of extreme poverty. An average of 100 girls live there and mostly range from infants to teenagers. A high percentage of girls come from the different Courts for Children and Adolescents in the countryside, including Jalapa, Jutiapa, Santa Rosa, Chiquimula, San Marcos, and Izabal.

Although the Courts refer the girls, they do not receive any economic or material support from them, nor any other State entity. Because of that, El Hogar relies on admirable donors to provide the girls with food, education, health, recreation, psychological and spiritual support, training, and clothing.

The monthly educational cost for one girl is Q.250.00 (32.51 US dollars).

Your donations could change these young girls' lives, as well as help El Hogar to continue offering a safe home with a friendly, warm, and loving environment to some of the most vulnerable girls in their country.

Through the high school club we created (Thrive Beyond Borders) we have been able to meet and teach English over zoom to some of the girls. We've been very touched by how kind and smart they are. They've been through so much in their lives, faced so many challenges as young girls, and they still smile, laugh and inspire in so many ways. Our hope with the club is to continue to work on these connections and support and empower the girls in the future.
