Hello friends and family,

I am writing this go-fund-me letter with sadness and love in my heart. On 5/29 my son Christopher’s ex-wife Deedra Poggemeyer passed away at the young age of 39 from ovarian cancer. She leaves behind 3 children. The 2 oldest are my son’s children ages 16 and 13 and have moved in with their father and his family with additional children ages 7, 8 and 2. Unfortunately, we were all unaware of how bad Deeda’s cancer was until a couple weeks before her passing.

The love in my heart: Let me just say that Leah and Chris are two of the most loving, caring, patient and involved parents any child could ask for. This is before this unfortunate event and currently they have made the transition of moving in full time with them the easiest possible for the kids with the best emotional support one could ask for. This included numerous visits with their mother while in the Hospital and bringing them to see their younger brother that will be raised by a good friend of Deedra’s and is local so the kids can see each other. Top priority is the kids continued education, mental support and over all well-being as well as making sure to honor their mother whenever possible so the kids will always know how much she loved them.

The only burden is a financial one as there was no time to prepare or save up for such a life changing moment as when someone so young passes away and your house now becomes full with all the extra expenses. While they are not complaining, I am asking for some help and support so that these 2 amazing parents can make this transition easier financially and focus on the kids needs at this difficult, emotional time instead of struggling and stressing on how they will pay for everything.
