Please help support Jason Minami's family

Flanked by his earth angels, his wife Theresa, and his Mom Niki, Jason Minami peacefully passed away on the morning of Sunday, December 5th.

 

A short eleven weeks prior, Jason received a shocking Stage IV metastatic cancer diagnosis. At that time, learning that the cancer had spread to several areas in his body, he immediately began aggressive chemotherapy the week he was diagnosed. He remained positive and determined and fought valiantly through tremendous pain and depleting rounds of treatment in the hopes of improving.  

 

In addition to being an anchor for his many friends, Jas has been a devoted husband to Theresa, a doting, involved and loving father to Matteo (11) and Nico (8), and a beloved brother and son. If you knew him well, you experienced his mischievous sense of humor and his genuinely kind heart. Through his work at the Judiciary, Jay’s esteemed public service helped to ensure access to justice for our local community.  He was well-respected professionally by colleagues at the Judiciary, DHRD, the legislature and at the firms that he worked at over the years.

Jas wore so many hats and had an expansive skill set. You may have known Jason as a brother, editor, advisor, resident jokester and troublemaker, wrestler, lawyer, director, softball or basketball teammate, chef, party planner, poker player, fellow board member, gardener, fish ponder, surfer, skate boarder, music/movie reviewer or go-to sounding board for sound advice (sprinkled with a bit of sarcasm.)  In lieu of traditional social media, his friends enjoyed his curated "INSTA J" via text thread where he shared photos of beach days with his boys or his latest culinary pursuit.     

So many friends have expressed their concern and care for the Minami family. As Theresa and the kids begin the difficult and trepidatious journey of trying to adjust to life without their beloved husband and Dad, we would like to embrace them with some reassuring financial support. This will help to reduce Theresa’s worries about their finances and the loss of Jason’s income.  His family was his entire life and caring for them was of the utmost importance to Jason.      

 

All donations, regardless of the amount, will go a long way in helping to manage current and future expenses for the young Minami family.
