Our organization operates by providing meals to mutual aid groups and filling community fridges in our neighborhoods. With years of restaurant and food-service experience and well-cultivated relationships within the industry, Supper Collective is able to provide excellent meals in a cost-effective manner.
Supper Collective is a black femme-led group that grew out of the New York City Hall Occupation in late June 2020, which aimed to drastically reduce the NYPD budget and divert funds towards under-served communities. Formed by the food and supply teams, we have gone on to serve thousands of meals and provide essential supplies at actions across New York. Since then, and seeing the increasing food insecurity brought about by the pandemic, we have pivoted to providing meals for mutual aid groups, the unhoused, and those in need throughout New York City.
Nourishment is a right! Food inequity and scarcity are manufactured crises that have become the norm in this country, and in addressing those issues directly, food is Supper Collective’s form of protest.
