Today I had to urgently escape an abusive and unsafe home with my animals. It was no longer safe for us to stay, and I left with only the essentials.

We are temporarily in an Airbnb, but I have a very short window to secure a long-term home. I found a safe rental that is perfect for us, but I cannot afford the move-in costs on my own.

Deposit + first month + last month rent: ~$7,650

An inexpensive used car (the home is rural): ~$2,000

Basic essentials after leaving with almost nothing: ~$500

Pet supplies, gas, and emergency cushion: ~$500

Total urgently needed to get safe and stable: $12,000

I am starting over with under $2,000. I’ve been a caregiver for over 14 years, always supporting others — but right now, I desperately need help to secure a safe home and keep my animals protected.
