Our dear friends and beloved community members, Tom and Sue Hunnel, are in need of a reliable vehicle. Their faithful van that has carried them to their countless musical gigs, fundraisers and doctors appointments over the years is about to kick the can, and we can’t afford to have Fiddlin’ Big Sue missing any gigs!

As many of you likely know, Tom has been battling a Parkinson’s diagnosis that has become aggressively worse this past year. He still has his good days and his unmatchable humor, but his health is in decline. Getting to doctor’s appointments and going on small excursions when he’s able is critical, and Sue, as his primary caregiver needs to be able to get him where he needs to go, and still be able to make it to her many gigs around town. Music is what sustains Sue, and Sue’s music is something that has in so many ways sustained our sweet community.

Her friends and bandmates can attest, when Sue shows up for her community, she gives it all. No matter the organization she’s trying to raise funds for, and there have been many, Sue goes above and beyond in her effort, energy and generosity. Donating her beautiful handmade crafts for fundraisers and silent auctions, rallying her friends, and providing endless hours of vibrant musical entertainment, always refusing any payment to herself.

We truly can’t think of a person more deserving than Sue for some much needed financial support from her beloved community. There’s so much that these lovers of 50 years have to focus on right now. Worrying about reliable transportation should not be one of them. If you can spare any amount, we hope you’ll consider donating.
