Help Bring My Father Home

Hi everyone,

My name is Stratten Wooddell, and I’m starting this GoFundMe for my father, who is currently incarcerated due to child-support backpay. My father has always been a hardworking man, doing everything he can to provide and stay on his feet. After years of struggling, he had finally begun rebuilding his life and had just secured steady employment—only to be taken into custody before he had the chance to get fully caught up. Additionally, my father has suffered two medical issues that require upcoming surgery. In due time, he was on the trajectory to have both operated on. I’m concerned these much needed surgeries will not be addressed while he is incarcerated.

The system gives little room for someone trying to recover from years of financial hardship. In result, both factors have made it hard for him to live a stable lifestyle where consistent payments were possible. Despite these challenges, my father has never stopped trying. He loves me deeply, and he has always done what he can with what he had.

Right now, he needs help more than ever. I’m asking for support to help cover the costs associated with his release and to give him a real chance to continue the progress he had finally begun. Anything—no matter the amount—will make a difference.
