For a decade, the Chinatown community has fought Beedie's gentrifier condo tower at 105 Keefer in Chinatown, now rebranded as 570 Columbia. This zombie tower threatens to economically displace seniors, low-income residents, and culturally-rooted businesses, while eroding Chinatown’s living culture and heritage.
SaveChinatownYVR will be part of the fight through community organizing, public actions, teach-ins, and advocacy. We need your support to continue this work so community members can be heard at city hall.
Funds will go toward:
- Supplies and materials for actions
- Food for seniors, youth, volunteers, and speakers at city hall (up to 3 days)
- Software and technical costs for online campaigns and teach-ins
- Transportation and accessibility support for participants to events, protests and city hall
- Outreach, printing, and educational materials
