Help Oppose 4-story Storage Facility in Severna Park

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jessica Bratten, a homeowner in Severna Park, MD. Members of our community are coming together to oppose the construction of a 4-story, 1000+ unit storage facility proposed at 335 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, the current location of the small Knights of Columbus / Columbian Center building. A commercial structure of this size would significantly alter the visual landscape and residential vibe of our community, becoming the tallest commercial or office building along Route 2 in Severna Park.

Allowing a public storage facility of this size next to a single-family home neighborhood sets an unfortunate precedent for more tall, industrial-looking structures in residential areas, detracting from the character of our Severna Park community. There are plenty of alternative storage facilities within a few miles. We have filed a county appeal but need specialized legal help to present our case effectively and ensure the community’s voice is heard. The funds raised will go directly toward attorneys fees etc. at the Law Office of G. Macy Nelson.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will help us in this process. The appeal hearing is scheduled for July 23, 24, and Sept. 3 at 44 Calvert Street in Annapolis. We appreciate anyone who can provide in-person support at the appeals hearing. Excess funds will be donated to the Magothy River Association.
