We’re raising funds for our dear friend Stevie, who is facing a sudden and overwhelming medical crisis far from home.

Since the end of September, Stevie had been feeling unwell. When she traveled to California for a reunion with close girlfriends, they urged her to go to the hospital — a decision that may have saved her life.

Doctors discovered a mass in her colon that required emergency surgery. A portion of her intestines had to be removed, and she will need extensive treatment for the next few months. Stevie was hospitalized for about 12 days and is now recovering at her grandparents’ home in California, but she cannot return home to Texas for an estimated four to five months while she heals.

This experience has been physically, emotionally, and financially devastating. Being away from home for months, unable to work, and managing ongoing medical care has placed an enormous burden on Stevie and her family.

We are asking for help to support Stevie with:

Medical expenses

Living and travel costs while she remains out of state

Basic necessities during her recovery period
