On July 22, 2026, the Starr family received the news that Misty’s niece Stevie and Stevie’s daughter Alivia were badly injured in a devastating RV explosion caused by a gas leak. The RV was their home, and when Stevie went to start the stove, it exploded and sent both Stevie and Alivia to the burn unit at Hillcrest Hospital, where they are still receiving care. Stevie is doing better and is able to speak, but the road ahead is incredibly long. Stevie is recovering from burns over 44% of her body, and Alivia was also burned in the explosion. In a matter of moments, they lost not only their sense of safety, but everything they owned when the trailer was destroyed in the fire.

As Stevie and Alivia continue to heal, they are facing overwhelming needs. Donations will help with medical bills, travel expenses, and the cost of helping them get reestablished after losing everything in the fire. Stevie is a beautiful person inside and out, with a generous heart, a generous spirit, and a deep love for God.
