Help Steve Rogers and his family as he recovers.

My husband of over 10 years, whom I have two beautiful boys with, was in a violent crash on August 11th. While on his way to work to provide for his family, a woman lost control of her vehicle and slammed headfirst into him at a high rate of speed sending him off a small bridge and into dense brush. His car rolled multiple times and then lit on fire. While the other driver was able to walk around yelling and screaming, my husband was pinned in his car as it began to fill with smoke. Help went to the lady first and he was only able to meekly call for help in a hushed tone. When he realized he had to get himself out of his car alone he was unable to free his legs as they were crushed and pinned under the dash. He said the pedals were wrapped around his leg. He began to pull his legs out ripping his own flesh and dislocating two toes in the process. His shoes will forever be lodged in the car. As he finally exited the vehicle he heard horrible crunching noises coming from his body and he fell, helpless in the dirt. His lower back, pelvis and a rib were all broken. There are so many bruises and cuts, too many to count. He was eventually helped by some amazing Good Samaritans and then by the rescue team as he was flown by helicopter to Arrowhead Hospital. He is currently awaiting surgery for his pelvis and has a leg in traction. The toes have been reset and bandaged. He has a very long and difficult road of recovery ahead of him and will be unable to work for possibly months. He is the sole provider in our family as I am plagued with chronic health issues and have a brand new diagnosis of a brain tumor. He’s had a rough time getting full time work for the last 2 years even though he’s been consistently employed with Autozone for the last 15 years. He currently works two part time jobs and we receive government assistance. His part time income is now put on hold for who knows how long. Our family is going to suffer even more. Normally we never ask for help but I don’t know how we will survive without it. Steve works so hard and everyday he tries to be a good man, husband and Dad. He really tries. We need help with our bills, with groceries and meals. Our house unfortunately has a very long “honey-do” list that we couldn’t afford to fix before and now may never be able to. I cannot fathom how we are supposed to move a wheelchair in our 900sq foot home, there is a step up to get in the house and then a step down inside. I have no clue what special things he’ll need that insurance won’t cover. I genuinely don’t know how to take care of his health and mine and the kids and the pets and the house at the same time. I am scared but I am also grateful, grateful that he is alive, that he will walk again, and so so grateful to the guys that sat with him as he lie naked on the side of the road during morning traffic, (he still has bits of dirt embedded in his back). Any help, prayers, good vibes would help. Anything. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my Steve Rogers, my Captain America.❤️
