Steve Aylward—beloved band director at Miamisburg High School for 23 years—is under attack.

A respected teacher, father of three, and champion of an inclusive, nationally recognized music program, Steve has been targeted by a smear campaign. A blogger posted an out-of-context screenshot from Steve's private Facebook account and shared it to his millions of followers, falsely suggesting that Steve condoned violence. This is a complete fabrication. Steve has always spoken out against hate and violence.

As a result, his family was doxxed, received death threats, and Steve was placed on administrative leave as of September 12, 2025—despite no disciplinary action handed down. He was banned from school property for the four weeks, couldn’t support his students or attend his own children’s performances. His absence hurt not just his family, but hundreds of students and co-workers.

Now, Steve and his family are fighting back—with legal action to hold those responsible accountable and to protect teachers and students from further harm. But this fight is costly.
