My name is Stephanie, and I am reaching out for help during one of the most difficult times in my life. I am intersex and have lived as a woman, and recently I was discriminated against and evicted from my home. At 60 years old, living on disability, I find myself unable to save enough for even a night in a hotel, let alone the deposit and rent needed for stable housing. Two years ago, I suffered stage 2 frostbite and almost lost my toes. I am still dealing with the pain and complications from that experience, and the cold weather makes it even harder to manage.
Just recently, I found myself stranded at a gas station with no money left on my card, facing another night in my truck without a heater. The uncertainty and fear of not knowing where I’ll sleep or how I’ll stay warm is overwhelming. I am doing my best to stay hopeful, but it’s hard to feel beautiful or confident when I’m struggling just to get by. I am confused and frustrated, and I know I need help to get through this.
Your support can help me get into a hotel room for immediate safety and comfort, and ultimately work toward securing an apartment or house so I can have a stable home again. Any support you can give means the world to me. If you can't help by donation, maybe a prayer. Thank you.
