Hello there, beautiful friends!

I'm Tanisha and I'm starting this GFM for my dearest friend, Steph. I truly believe community is our only hope in times of need and in times of joy. We have all had the absolute pleasure of being in the company of Steph's joy. And now she needs us.

She is in danger of losing her house, which is very precious to her. Her house is not made of brick and wood. Nor is it made of faded memories and lost connections. It has taken on a unique form of profound meaning. It is alive. It was built with the intention of providing shelter and ended up being transformed into a haven for a 4-year-old boy named Johbis, who tragically passed away. This is his home and will forever be.

His mama wants to keep it that way, but fears she will not be able to afford keeping it, due to financial hardships. She would be devastated, as would her oldest son Jaigan. They deserve to live among Johbis' memories: his masterpieces of distorted figures drawn on the walls, his bathtub soap scribbles, the visual trails of him dancing in the kitchen, the imprint of him sleeping in bed with his mama, his toys still lying where he left them, his fingerprints still on the glass doors, his table and chairs where he once sat to eat his favorite meals, and his larger-than-life aura.

Please consider helping. Every little bit goes towards saving something incredibly valuable, even if it just looks like brick and wood. This house is a home. It's Johbis' home. It's Jaigan's home. It's Steph's forever home. If you look through the pictures, look in the background. You may have seen these photos a thousand times and never seen the home in them. Look again. That home is built on love.

Please donate if you can.

So much love,

Tanisha
