As many of you know, my best friend Steph and her wonderful husband Craig have a love that is big, kind, and selfless. Whether it’s Craig transforming lives as a hairdresser or Steph serving as an Intensive Care nurse—qualifying at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and jumping straight into the deep end to save others—they spend their lives taking care of everyone else.
Now, it’s our turn to take care of them.
A Friend Who Is Always There
Steph has been the first person I’ve called in my highest highs and my lowest lows. She was the one who actually had to break the news of my first pregnancy to my now-husband because I was in such shock! She was also the first person I called during the heartbreak of a miscarriage, staying by my side every step of the way.
Even when she began her own difficult fertility journey, her support never wavered. She cheered me through my next pregnancy, looking after me and my 12-week bump during her own hen do in Benidorm. She is the ultimate "Auntie" and the person who advocates for everyone else’s happiness.
The Heartbreak of "One Shot"
After years of trying, lifestyle changes, vitamins, and even the "lucky" McDonald’s fries on implantation day, Steph and Craig finally began IVF on the NHS. Devastatingly, only one embryo made it to the blastocyst stage.
They had one shot. After the most grueling two-week wait of their lives, they received the news no one should have to hear: the implantation was unsuccessful.
Why We Are Asking For Help
How do you accept that your "one chance" has to be your last?
Steph and Craig are currently looking into remortgaging their home, and Steph is picking up grueling extra shifts at the hospital to try and fund another round of private IVF. They have so much love to give—they’ve even rescued dogs (Flo and Coco) from kennel kill lists to give them a second chance at life - thee most pampered pooches!
They deserve their second chance, too.
They would never ask for help themselves, so I am asking for them. IVF is a massive financial burden, and we want to take that weight off their shoulders so they can focus on what matters: bringing a tiny human into this world.
How You Can Help
Any donation, no matter how small, goes directly toward the costs of a new IVF cycle. If you can’t donate, please share this page.
There is nothing I want more than to one day get that phone call from Steph and hear those two magical words: "I'm pregnant."
Thank you for helping these two beautiful humans become the parents they were always meant to be.
