Who We Are
Hi! I’m Roman, a volunteer fund-raiser based in the U.S., organising this campaign on behalf of Smile ’n Win Special-Needs Children’s Home (Reg. No. P02/0490). Located at 139 Dewala Road, Makola, Gampaha District, the home is officially registered with Sri Lanka’s National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) authority as a local NGO that trains and cares for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Why We Need Your Help Right Now
- Rising costs: Inflation has pushed food and medical prices up 22 % in the past year.
- Therapy gap: Only 1 licensed child-occupational therapist covers 30+ children.
- Safety & accessibility: The 15-year-old building needs ramps, handrails, and a sensory therapy room.
A Child’s Journey
When “Dilani” (name changed for privacy) arrived last year, she was non-verbal and struggled to walk unaided. Six months of consistent speech therapy, sensory play, and nutrition support later, she now speaks in two-word sentences and can walk the garden path holding her caregiver’s hand. Stories like Dilani’s are why we’re reaching out to you today.
Our Goal & Budget
We aim to raise USD 25 000 (≈ LKR 8 M) to keep the doors open and expand services through December 2026.
