Hello, I'm Hayley ✨
I have been an influencer for over 10+ years now, back in 2015 I set up a campaign called #ShareThisChristmas, where I would email brands I'd worked with throughout the year and donate them to local charities.
In 2016 - my boyfriend Ben and I made up "winter backpacks" for the homeless, it was a really cold winter so we made up some packs filled with warm socks, scarves, hats etc and delivered them around London.
Each year around Christmas time I try to keep the campaigns running by donating clothes and beauty items from brands I love to local shelters.
Being completely honest; I wasn't sure if this year I'd be able to run something as life has just felt so busy it's run me into the ground a little.
But last Christmas something happened that has reminded me WHY I need to use my platform for good - there are so many people that need our help. Don't get me wrong it's all year round that people need support - not just at Christmas, but I find at Christmas time it's easy for everyone to get so wrapped up in buying presents, food and things that really (in the grand scheme of things!), don't really matter.
I wanted to share the story that sparked this Go Fund Me page - I hope that you could maybe swap out your daily coffee and donate here today, in the hope that together we can spread warmth + love this Christmas!
...Last year my boyfriend Ben went into our local town in Norfolk, he saw a homeless lady sheltered in a doorway so he went over to speak with her - she said she was in an abusive marriage which she had to leave and in turn had sort of fallen through the cracks and wound up homeless, she's trying to get some help & accommodation from the council but so far no luck.
He gave her £10 in the hope that she could sleep somewhere warm tonight, he also asked her if she had any warm clothes and she burst out crying and said "I haven't changed my knickers in two weeks, I'm so embarrassed" - so he went into Primark and spent £40 on knickers, socks, ear muffs, a scarf, hat and warm items and took them right back to her.
It truly hit home that there are so many people that need our help this winter - £10-£20 could pay for accommodation for the night, or £40 gave this lovely woman the clothes she needed to stay warm, when really what would that money buy us - another gift in the sales, or some more food when realistically there's probably enough.
I'm not saying any of this to make anyone feel bad as I truly wish you have the most wonderful Christmas with your loved ones, but if you have anything you could spare - together I think we could spread some warmth + love to those who need it this year, my hope is that people know they're not alone and they're cared for, by all of us.
This Christmas our local homeless shelter is in need of:
- men’s comfy clothing & loungewear
- beauty products & toiletries for women
- new bedding, pillows, duvets etc
This is what I’ll be buying & donating with these funds - no matter how much you’re able to donate, please know that it makes a difference!
Social media can be a toxic place sometimes, but it can also truly be a place where magical things happen - so if you found this page, then thank you! ✨
Wishing you the lovelies festive period & thank you in advance if you can help us.
All our love,
Hayley + Ben ✨ xxxx
