St. Peter’s Episcopal Community Outreach (SPECO) is committed to meeting immediate needs with dignity while building long-term pathways to health, stability, and community connection. Through weekly, monthly, and seasonal programs, SPECO addresses food insecurity, homelessness, overdose prevention, and access to essential resources across Huntington and the surrounding area. Since 2019, our programs have provided thousands of hot meals, pantry bags, carebags, and life-saving Narcan doses to neighbors in need. Our Blessing Box is stocked nearly every day, our Lot of Love Garden grows fresh produce for the community, and our volunteers dedicate hundreds of hours to making Huntington a healthier, more compassionate place for all.
This year, SPECO is facing a devastating loss of grant funding, leaving us without the staffing funds needed to keep our programs running. We have already cut our staff funds in half for 2026, but we still face a significant deficit. Without immediate support, we risk losing the capacity to coordinate weekly meals, maintain the Blessing Box, organize carebag distributions, sustain our garden initiatives, and ensure access to life-saving Narcan. The loss of staffing threatens the very backbone of our outreach, putting the well-being of over 2,200 people at risk.
Your support is crucial. By contributing to this fundraiser, you are helping SPECO remain reliable, responsive, and present for the individuals and families who depend on us. Your donation will directly support the staffing and operational capacity that makes all of our outreach possible. As more donations come in to cover operations and staffing, future grants can be used to expand our programs even further. We invite you to stand with us and help secure the leadership and infrastructure needed to keep this mission thriving. Together, we can ensure that SPECO continues to serve our community with consistency, compassion, and excellence.
