Help Spay & Neuter Stray Cats around Foxwood Townhomes

Hello everyone,

Our names are Taylor and Keith, and we are from Newark in the East Bay, California. Some of you may be aware of the large stray cat colony in the Foxwood Townhomes area. These cats have been living in the complex for the past few years and are continuing to multiply at a rapid rate.

Thankfully, we're receiving support from Bay Area Cats, a non-profit organization that aims to decrease the number of unfixed cats in the community. They have agreed to assist in trapping, fixing and providing care for these kitties, however, it costs around $125 for each cat, and there are around 30 cats we're hoping to help.

With your help, each kitty will receive a spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies and FVRCP), and a flea treatment before being returned to the area they were trapped. Each cat will have an ear tipped to indicate they are fixed.

Spaying/neutering helps reduce the population of stray cats, and has health benefits for the individual cats. It helps reduce the risk of infections and cancers, and decreases reproductive behaviors like urine spraying and fighting. Overall, it helps lead towards a longer, healthier, happier life.

Bay Area Cats is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our organization provides resources and enables the community to do trap-neuter-return (TNR). We spend time training, educating, rescuing kittens, and assisting with TNR efforts. We help connect people to spay/neuter resources and support those with financial need.
