Help Sophie make her First Steps...

On MAY 11, 2018, at 10:33am an Angel was born. Her name is Sophie. Premie that was born at 25 weeks, weighing at 1lb 3oz (530grams).
She is a true fighter since day one. Being born so early causes a lot of problems and each day was a fight for life, and Sophie is a true WINNER when it comes to that. She had spent 5 months in the hospital where she fought all kinds of health related issues. She had an infection in the early stages of her life, which had caused more severe problems going forward. She had a kidney problem, a very weak heart and was always getting really tired, while still struggling to breath on her own which she could not yet. Most parts of the lungs were still collapsed so she needed a lot of help with breathing. Sophie was on oxygen for more than 4 months, which is a lot for such a little baby, because of that they told us that can later affect her eyes and her brain. She had struggled also with feeding during the hospital stay, and  we had go back home with a G tube in her stomach to feed her. After we left the hospital, we know Sophie needed special care and lots of therapies to help her catch up and grow. Her progress is very slow but we have seen slight improvements in her growth such as mobility and reacting to sounds. When she was around 12 months was diagnosed with INFANTILE SPASMS, a rare condition but more typical with premie babies. Irregular  brain waves that cause seizures, and drastically stop the growth of a child's brain. She is now almost 18 months old. Her adjusted age as of right now, I would say is maybe around 6-9months. She still does not sit on her own, she does not follow objects / faces due to the fact that her sight is very little. She is not blind, she reacts to sunlight,but she does not see well because her brain cannot process that very well yet. She receives all kinds of therapies. Physical (PT), Occupational (OT), and Speech once a week for around 60-120minutes each session. We know she is capable of counquering all that is at her path. She was born to do great things, she was born to have a normal life and we will do everything that is in our power to help her achieve that. We are very religious and without God's help we would not be even in this very moment in our lifes. We are asking for YOUR HELP, so you can help us FUND the extra Therapies that Sophie needs in her life. Two or three sessions a week of each PT, OT, Speech and even Vision, would significantly help her go the right direction.
